Biography

Laura is a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and is also a member of the Registered Massage Therapist Association of Ontario and the Canadian Sports Massage Therapist Association who grew up in Thunder Bay Ontario, where she visits her family every summer on the shores of Lake Superior at their family camp. Growing up as a competitive swimmer, paddler and lifeguard Laura grew fond of athletic therapy early on, and pursued massage therapy training with the intention of working with athletes in the future.  Before attending college for massage, she first followed the path to become a paramedic.  She worked for the Ottawa Paramedic Service in the public education department for many years, and previously the city of Thunder Bay, as a first aid instructor, which she has been doing since she was 16. Laura graduated from Fleming College in Peterborough in 2010 at which time she decided to go for a tour of New Zealand before settling into her new career.  She was fortunate enough to get a job in a massage clinic in Auckland to replenish her funds after months of galavanting. Upon returning to Canada in 2011 Laura was able to immediately get a job at a clinic in Nepean where she worked for her first 9 years of practice. Once established in her Nepean clinic she began expanding her treatment options, over the next few years Laura has taken courses to become certified in athletic and postural taping, functional dry needling, tool assisted fascial release, and intra oral massage.  More information on all of these modalities can be found in the tabs, take a look to see if anything seems like it would fit into your treatment needs. In October of 2015 Laura made the adult leap of purchasing her first home in the outskirts of Limoges where she has set up an in home clinic in order to bring all of these treatment methods out to Eastern Ontario. Laura welcomes all clients with acute and chronic conditions as well as those wanting to achieve a higher state of wellness through body awareness.  She currently works with athletes in the running community as well as many of the Canadian national lifesaving team.
